More Information about the TIG Conference
January 30-February 2, 2008
Austin, Texas

LSC hosted the eighth Annual TIG Conference in Austin, Texas, January 30 through February 2. It was the largest TIG Conference ever with 140 participants from across the country.

The Conference featured three tracks: the Management and Technology Track for technology staff of LSC-funded programs; the Website Track for content coordinators of statewide websites; and the Technology Track for Lawyers, which provided information on technologies and products aimed at making the work of legal advocates easier and more efficient.

In addition, this year there was a two day pre-conference hosted by LSC and the State Justice Institute (SJI) featuring training on creating plain English language court forms and instructions for pro se litigants, a significant component of the work being done by programs when developing court forms and other electronic documents that are used by unrepresented persons and advocates. Twenty-five people attended the pre-conference and the training was led by Maria Mindlin, CEO of Transcend, a language consulting firm.

Once again the conference was a great success.

Check out what some of our participants have to say about it:

"I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for a wonderful experience at the TIG Conference! I know how hard you all worked on the event, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to be amongst such smart, fun and passionate (for legal services) people."

"First I wanted to say thanks for a wonderful conference! The sessions were very interesting and inspiring, and the food/snacks and reception were awesome!!!"

As always we appreciate your support and participation and look forward to seeing you againat our 9th Annual TIG conference next year!
