Legal Aid of East Tennessee – Technical Assistance/ Open Source Circuit Riding

The project was designed to fund a circuit rider for states which use the Open Source Template for their statewide website projects.  The primary goal of the Open Source circuit rider is to ensure the statewide website grants succeed. With limited resources to develop these websites, the circuit rider increases the economies of scale of each project by coordinating lessons learned and roadmaps to success across all states, thereby facilitating timely implementation and reducing repeated and costly errors.  The circuit rider maximizes the existing role each legal aid program has in its community to improve client use and access to the site.   This service is free to all OS statewide web sites.

Legal Aid Society of Orange County, Inc. – Technical Assistance

This grant created the National Technology Assistance Project (NTAP). NTAP was created with two main goals, to provide technical assistance to programs on their technology efforts and to provide training on technology subjects, not just for techies, but for management, advocates, and staff, too.. To date (May 2006) NTAP has delivered 97 online trainings with 2,222 participants.

Lone Star Legal Aid – Online Conference Center

In 2001 TIG began funding Legal Meetings, a web-based meeting center for use by LSC funded programs. As service areas have expanded, it has become more expensive and time consuming to have staff meetings and trainings in person. Legal Meetings is a virtual meeting center than can overcome these challenges. In 2005, Legal Meetings hosted 991 meetings with 4811 participants. This grant has moved to the Center for Arkansas Legal Services and is managed by NTAP.
